Traditional Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology
Practiced for over 5,000 years in China, acupuncture and Chinese Herbology together are referred to as Traditional Chinese Medicine, a holistic health system that is used to prevent and treat many forms of pain and dis-ease, as well as provide guidance for improved health. There are over 365 Chinese herbs commonly used in formulas treating internal and external dis-harmonies. At ASAOM we use raw herbs formulas, made specifically for the patient, and prepared herb formulas (pills), according to their individual needs.
Acupuncture is the technique of using hair-thin needles, designed to be inserted into the body at specific points on meridian pathways to address both physical and emotional disharmonies. It works using Qi (chee – vital life-force energy of the body on meridian pathways) to address both physical and emotional disharmonies. In this way, the Qi facilitates rebalancing energy in these meridian pathways of the body, pathways that modern science has now been able to measure. Chinese Medicine has been proven effective for many ailments including insomnia, smoking cessation, stroke rehabilitation, anxiety, menopause, Diabetes, and muscular skeletal pain, just to name a few.
