WHY STUDY IN TUSCON?

ABOUT TUSCON SKIES

These go on forever.

They look like giant daubed watercolors, bruised charcoals and explosive pastels on a sapphire blue canvas.

People, literally come from all over the country, and even from international locations to get a glimpse of our sunsets and sunrises.

In Fall, as we move into Winter (yes we have a robust, complete Winter season in the beautiful Sonoran desert - replete with wood smells, fireplace settings and snow on the mountain tops), the skies fold their colors around maroons and fiery yellows like the leaves of trees on our Mount Lemon - a hikers haven.

Clouds curl like muscles and move like sails in monsoon season (yes, our arid desert has a monsoon season).

Night time is bright time, if we’re referring to the moon and stars because city lights are deliberately kept to a minimum to preserve the brilliant skyline, and natural illumination of our treasured mountain valley.

You will rarely find a building higher than two or three stories - all to preserve our brilliant, beautiful natural wonder of a sky.

EVERYTHING IN TUSCON BLOOMS!

A lot of people who live here do not even think of Tucson as being a desert valley. We are in the Sonoran desert, where everything blooms and the colors seem endless. What really designates us with the label desert, is the quintessential Saguaro cactus hulking around the town and building its beautiful silhouette out in sunshine backdrops and shadow. Tucson is home to the Sonoran Valley National Forest, and the Desert Museum - absolutely one of the most incredible walks one can take. “The Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum is a 98-acre (40 ha) zoo, aquarium, botanical garden, natural history museum, publisher, and art gallery founded in 1952. Located just west of Tucson, Arizona, it features two miles (3.2 km) of walking paths traversing 21 acres (8.5 ha) of desert landscape. It is one of the most visited attractions in Southern Arizona.”

“The nonprofit organization focuses on the interpretation of the natural history, plants and animals of the Sonoran Desert. The museum is home to more than 230 animal species and 1,200 varieties of plants. It is open every day through the year, and hosts nearly 400,000 visitors annually, including visitors from abroad.” - courtesy of Wikipedia’s description
